Practical guide
Check a turnover window and budget reserve
A turnover plan has two constraints: the work must fit the entered departure-to-arrival window, and the estimate must fit the approved budget. TurnKey shows both comparisons.
Calculate available work hours
The tool counts whole days between departure and arrival and multiplies by workday hours. The default 2026-10-01 to 2026-10-03 window at 8 hours per day provides 16 planning hours, so 15 task hours fit the window.
available work hours = (arrival date - departure date) x workday hours per day
Apply the reserve after line items
The default 460 itemized subtotal receives a 10% reserve, producing 506 before any other entered adjustments. Replace the illustrative rows and reserve when the scope changes.
The reserve is a visible percentage of the itemized estimate, not an untracked extra line.
Read the budget warning
The default estimate is 1,248.50 against a 900 budget, leaving negative 348.50 budget headroom. Use the difference to revisit scope, labor rate, or approved budget assumptions.
Check your own scenario
Replace the illustrative inputs with measured values and dated specifications.
